Bankruptcy

Mirghanbari Law Office ("MLO") is a Debt Relief Agency which helps people file for Bankruptcy Relief under the Bankruptcy Code.

Filing personal bankruptcy should be your last resort. MLO encourages you to explore all other financial options (i.e. credit counseling, offer and compromise, etc.) BEFORE you consider filing for bankruptcy.

If, however, all other options do not work to improve your financial situation, MLO can assist you in exploring your eligibility for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy.

The Bankruptcy Law changed October 17, 2005. The following are just a few of the new Debtor Duties, you will need to comply with
  • Completion of a new Statement of Current Monthly Income & Means Test Calculation form to assess Chapter 7 eligibility
  • Completion of approved credit counseling
  • Completion of approved personal financial management course
Chapter 7 Bankruptcy allows for you to keep certain property (assets) as long as the property's value falls within certain exemption amounts and keeping the property (reaffirming the debt) does not pose an undue financial hardship on you.

Also, debts (liabilities) fall into different categories and should be analyzed carefully.

The usual timeline from file date of your case to discharge date (the day you are released from your debts) is 90 days.

MLO can help you assess your eligibility to file, your exemptions, and the dischargeability of your debts.

MLO offers payment plans to assist you in paying your attorney's fees.

Individual Debtors (unmarried) can meet with an attorney at MLO for as little as $200.00 down to start your Chapter 7 Bankruptcy case.

Married Debtors can meet with an attorney at MLO for as little as $300.00 down to start your Chapter 7 Bankruptcy case.
